The Running event "RELAYING DISASTER RISK REDUCTION AND CLIMATE ACTIONS" is part of the "Early Action Together", campaign, jointly organized by Vietnam Disaster Management Authority, in collaboration with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Vietnam organized for the purpose of:

  • Responding to the International Day of Disaster Risk Reduction on October 13th by conveying messages about disaster risk reduction and, and climate change adaptation.
  • Spreading the child-centered approach in communication activities to raise awareness on disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation.
  • Creating a useful playground for children and communities across the country on the occasion of the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction on October 13, 2022.

The running event "RELAYING DISASTER RISK REDUCTION AND CLIMATE ACTIONS" includes two distances of 3km and 15km.

  • Distance 3km – Public Running: The 3km distance is for young athletes aged from 6 to 16-year-old. Athletes can run or walk to compete and participate in other activities at check-in points on the track.
    • Check-in point 1: The area for cheering teams to wear recycled fashion. Athletes can take pictures with the program hashtag.
    • Check-in point 2: The area for photos with mascots in the appearance of the Earth and green trees…
    • Check-in point 3: The area for handprints and wish writing.
    • Check-in point 4: Painting exhibition area.
    Note: Athletes between the ages of 6-16-year-old should be accompanied by parents.
  • Distance 15km – Professional Running: The 15km distance is for athletes over 16-year-old. Athletes can run or walk.

The running event is for 6-16-year-old accompanied by parents and is open to all individuals living inside Vietnam.

  • Registration time: From 15:00 on November 7, 2022 to 15:00 on November 28, 2022.
  • Time of the race:
    • Distance 15km: 05.00 a.m on December 10, 2022 (Running time close by: 07:30 a.m).
    • Distance 3km: 08:00 a.m on December 10, 2022 (Running time close by: 09:15 a.m).
  • Location: My Khe Beach, Phuoc My Ward, Son Tra District, Da Nang (The East Sea Park).

Free.

  • Distance 3km (Public Running - walking/jogging): The athlete completes 1 lap of 3km, 1 first-leg and 1 second-leg respectively, each turn is 1.5km long.
    Note: The 3km distance is for athletes aged 6-16. Participating athletes may run or walk, and should be accompanied by parents.
  • Distance 15km (Professional running): The athlete completes 5 laps of 3km running, respectively 05 first-leg and 5 second-leg, each turn is 1.5km long.
    Note: The 15km distance is for athletes over 16 years old.
  • All athletes participating in the running must agree and sign the Release of Liability Form HERE. Athletes will receive this Form when getting the Race Kit from the Organizing Committee.

Race Kit for each distance includes 01 T-shirt and 01 identification number (BIB). Race Kit Receiving Information:
  • Time: From December 8, 2022 to December 9, 2022 (office hours).
  • Location: The East Sea Park’s Square, Vo Nguyen Giap road, Phuoc My Ward, Son Tra District, Danang City.
  • When picking up the race kit, the athlete must present:
    • Email of the Successful Registration Confirmation from the Organizing Committee.
    • Athlete's ID/Passport according to race registration information (Hardcopy, Copy, or Photo).
      (ID/Passport of a legal guardian in case of an athlete under 14 years old).

Note: All runners participating in the race must agree and sign the Release of Liability Form. Athletes will receive this Form when getting the Race Kit from the Organizer.

  • Distance 15km: Prizes for Top 4 male athletes and Top 4 female athletes with the best results:
    • 02 First Prizes : Each prize is worth 2,500,000 VND and the First Prize Certificate.
    • 02 Second Prizes : Each prize is worth 2,000,000 VND and the Second Prize Certificate.
    • 02 Third Prizes : Each prize is worth 1,500,000 VND and the Third Prize Certificate.
    • 02 Consolation Prizes: Each prize is worth 500,000 VND and the Consolation Prize Certificate.
  • Distance 3km: Prizes for Top athletes with the best achievements:
    • 01 First Prize: The prize is worth 1,500,000 VND and the First Prize Certificate.
    • 01 Second Prize: The prize is worth 1,000,000 VND and the Second Prize Certificate.
    • 03 Third Prizes: Each prize is worth 500,000 VND and the Third Prize Certificate.

    Evaluation criteria: Complete the running distance in the shortest time.

  • Each athlete participating in the running event will receive a souvenir medal.

  • The counter will be available from 04:45 am to 12:30 am on December 10, 2022, at the check-in area of the event.
  • The sender will need a bracelet with the number of the sent bag in order to receive the bag containing personal items sent to the Organizing Committee.
  • Please DO NOT leave valuables on the counter and stay alert to avoid theft.
  • Although there are staffs at the counter, the Organizing Committee will not be responsible for any loss, misplacement, or damage of items deposited at the counter.

  1. PARTICIPANTS
  2. Participants must be able to complete the track, from the start line to the finish line.

    Participants must meet the age requirements corresponding to the registered distances:

    • All athletes participating in the 15km distance must be over 16 years old in 2022.
    • All athletes participating in the 3km distance must be from 6 to 16 years old in 2022.
    • All runners must agree and sign the Release of Liability Form. BThe Organizing Committee have the right to refuse any athletes who have not completed the Release of Liability Form:
      • Each participant must sign the Release of Liability Form upon receipt of the Race Kit, which is part of the registration process.
      • The BIB number is unique to each participant and cannot be changed, or sold to others.
      • Buying and selling tickets to attend/BIB is strictly prohibited.
    • The results of all distance will be recorded by the referee team of the running event.
    • Athletes are responsible for following the rules and instructions of the Organizer on the track to ensure that the results are recored correctly. All complaints about the results of the competition for all distances must be made within 30 minutes after the Organizer announces the results.
    • The Organizing Committee have the right to choose whether or not to appeal the complaints. The decisions of the Organizing Committee are the final decisions.
    • The Organizing Committee encourages athletes participating in the race to use the Strava app when competing to record the running results (installed on smart mobile devices).
  3. RACE KIT:
    • Athletes participating in the running receive 01 Race Kit (including 01 Tshirt and 01 identification number - BIB) to use on the day of the competition. Detailed information about the time and place to receive the Race Kit is posted on the registration website of the running.
    • Atheles must provide Identification with photo and confirmation email (which can be in electronic format, e.g. phone or print) when receiving their Race Kit
    • Athletes will not receive Race Kit after the specified time. The Organizing Committee does not stipulate terms for late receipt of the Race Kit and will not be responsible for any loss, misplacement or damage in the event that the athlete is unable to collect it in person or for any other reason. To ensure fairness, the Organizing Committee will not extend Race Kit distribution time or ensure all athletes receive their items. All athletes have a duty to pick up Race Kit within the regulated time. Race Kits that are not received within the above time will be handled by the Organizing Committee at its sole discretion.
  4. RUNNING DAY
    • Participants must follow the instructions provided by the Organizing Committee including race staff, volunteers, paramedics, security personnel and city officials for the duration of the event.
    • During the event, the Organizing Committee expects all participants to behave politely and professionally. Anyone who violates this code of conduct will be disqualified from the event and asked to leave the track.
    • Information on the athlete's BIB must be complete and accurate. Athletes must attach their competition identification number to the front of their clothes. Athletes who do not wear a running shirt and have their race identification number on their shirt will be removed from the track by security or race monitoring personnel.
    • The Organizing Committee reserves the right to use photos, videos, or other forms of recording (including recording images of athletes at the event) for communication purposes. Participating athletes have agreed to confirm this term in the Release of Liability Form of the race.
    • The Organizing Committee reserves the right to restrict or refuse anyone to participate in this event.
    • The Organizer reserves the right to cancel or change the time/location of the running at any time due to force majeure such as natural disasters, storms, floods, etc., without prior notice to the participants. In the case of event cancellation, the Organizing Committee will make every effort to notify registered participants prior to the event date.
  5. SAFETY FOR PARTICIPANTS
    • The use of wheeled mobility devices by participants or other authorized persons will be extremely limited: (a) athletes with disabilities using wheelchairs, crutches, etc.; (b) racetrack referee on a bicycle; (c) baby carriages, skateboards, skates, bicycles, or any vehicle with wheels are not allowed on the track.
    • Participants are responsible for learning about instructions and symbols related to maps, places, and guiding directions.
    • The event's authorized paramedics may check any athlete for signs of unwellness. If in the sole opinion of the paramedics, it is in the best interest of the participant's health and interests, the paramedics shall have the right to remove the athlete from the event.
    • Participants must stop their participation at the request of event staff, paramedics or government authorities.
    • Participants are responsible and liable for all, and any medical charges incurred as a result of training and/or participation in the event, including ambulance transportation, the period of hospitalization, doctors, pharmaceutical product and services.
    • Organizing Committee reserves the right to postpone, cancel or reschedule the running depending on the weather emergency situation.
    • All athletes must comply with the provisions of COVID-19 prevention regulations at the event.
  6. RULES FOR ATHLETES
    • Participant's shirt sizes cannot be changed after a successful registration. Participants need to carefully check the size table before choosing their size.
    • All runners who complete their running in the selected distance will be awarded a souvenir medal after finishing the running.
    • Souvenir medals after completing the race will be awarded at the event. Any issues that arise after that will not be resolved.
